How Updates Work
- Open Reign Cloud Updater on a computer on your home network.
- Sign in with a Reign Cloud Administrator account.
- The updater finds your Reign Cloud and checks for updates.
- If an update is available, select Update.
- When ready, select Install Update.
- Keep your Reign Cloud powered on while the update finishes.
- Your Reign Cloud may go temporarily offline during an update — that is normal.
- The updater reconnects automatically when your Reign Cloud is back.
- If your Reign Cloud is already current, the updater reports that it is up to date.
Keep the Updater on Your Computer
You do not need to download Reign Cloud Updater for every Reign Cloud software update. Keep the updater on your computer and open it whenever you want to check for updates — it checks the current stable release automatically.
Download a new desktop updater only if Nimbus Systems publishes a newer Reign Cloud Updater on this page or Support asks you to.
If an Update Seems Stuck
- Your Reign Cloud may temporarily go offline during an update.
- After about 30 seconds, the updater may show Reconnecting... — this is normal.
- Keep your Reign Cloud powered on.
- The updater continues checking for up to 30 minutes.
- If the updater reports that it lost contact: do not unplug or power-cycle your Reign Cloud; wait at least one minute; reopen Reign Cloud Updater and sign in again.
- Use Copy Support Details and contact support@nimbussystems.xyz if you still need help.
Before and During Install Update
Before you select Install Update, you may close the updater. After you select Install Update, allow the update to finish — there is no cancel button. If you close the updater window after installation has started, the update on your Reign Cloud continues. Reopening the updater and signing in can resume status monitoring.
What Is Preserved
Supported Reign Cloud updates are designed to preserve your existing Reign Cloud identity, Household setup, pairing, storage, and backed-up files.
Earlier Beta Devices
Some earlier Reign Cloud Beta devices may require a one-time setup before they can use the normal updater. If the updater says your Reign Cloud needs setup, contact Nimbus Systems Support.
